My husband had the pleasure to work with Michael Watson. We live out the state and we felt a sense of comfort and relief, that Michael Watson completely had our situation handled that we didn't even have to leave our state to attend the court hearing. Michael worked quickly and efficiently to handle our issue. We highly recommend him to anyone. Thank you for all your help.

Will withdraw from your case and leave you hanging after giving them 1500, 0/10 don't recommend, go somewhere else where Mike won't quit on you and give up. Huge waste of money. There is way better lawyers out there besides quitters.

Exceptional. He was a steady, very knowledgeable, with a solid presence when I needed one most. Sharp, responsive, straightforward, and genuinely invested in my case. Having someone you can trust completely when the stakes are high makes all the difference. Remember - having one is not enough - you need a lawyer that is willing and able to give you all they got. Michael is wicked smart and can help you get it done. Cannot recommend him/them enough!

I was very glad I connected with Mr. Watson's firm. It was only a 3 day turn around until the court case. He made time to meet with me and immediately drove nearly an hour to meet with the client. He was able to successfully settle the matter without requesting the court extend the case and leave the client in custody and in limbo another month. He also negotiated the client receiving the shortest sentence the judge issued during the entire session that day - on a 3rd violation, I was impressed and the client was ecstatic! I would recommend their firm to anyone seeking legal support. They were very reasonably priced, especially considering the level of effort he immediately put into the case. The payment plan options were a welcome support since none of us really plan ahead of time to challenge the judicial system, especially from custody! I would call the Watson Law Firm again without hesitation and recommend anyone else seeking counsel at least take advantage of their no cost consultation and see what they can do to help.

Michael was extremely helpful in getting my case resolved. Good communication, handled most everything electronically, and his advice and counsel was perfect (outcome exactly as expected). Also, veterans…he offers a discount to those who have served in the military! Definitely recommend 100%!

What is the Difference Between Felonies and Misdemeanors?

Crimes in Tennessee are categorized into two: felonies and misdemeanors. The primary difference between them is the severity of the offense and the resulting penalties.
Felonies

Felonies are serious crimes that can lead to significant prison sentences, hefty fines, and lasting repercussions. These crimes often involve violence, large-scale theft, or serious harm to others.

Misdemeanors

Misdemeanors are less serious violations but can still lead to jail time, fines, and a criminal record. While misdemeanors generally carry less strenuous penalties than felonies, they still can disrupt your life and future opportunities.

Common Felony Charges in Tennessee

Felony charges in Tennessee can include a variety of serious crimes. Some common felony offenses include:

  • Murder or Attempted Murder
  • Aggravated Assault
  • Robbery
  • Drug Trafficking
  • Sexual Assault or Rape
  • Burglary
  • Fraud and Embezzlement

Felony convictions can result in years or even decades in prison. In some cases, life sentences may be possible, especially if the crime involves aggravating factors. If you’ve been charged with a felony, it’s significant to seek immediate legal help to understand your rights and defense options.

Common Misdemeanor Charges in Tennessee

Misdemeanors are considered to be lesser in degree, yet the repercussions could be as harsh as a felony charge.

Although the punishment for a misdemeanor is generally lighter than that for a felony, it can include jail time, fines, and a lifetime criminal record that can have implications for your work and personal life.
